ABOUT US

A Brief History of Seaview

Seaview's history began in 1859 when Jonathan Stout, a cooper from Ohio, arrived on the Long Beach Peninsula In 1880 he purchased 153 acres along the ocean front with plans for a summer resort. He ran through several names for the resort—Stout's, Ocean View, North Pacific Beach, and finally Sea View. He built a hotel a few hundred feet from the mean high tide line with an ocean view across the driftwood that accumulated every winter.

Reviews

This has been the nicest vacation spot. The facility is very clean and well-worn comfortable. The cabin was properly stocked with the basics of any hotel. The kitchenette had adequate pots, pans and utensils. The location is perfectly close to the beach and bike trails while being just a far enough from the noisy and congested center of town. We will return soon and I hope to make it a regular thing at least a couple of times per year.

Clean, quiet and friendly staff. Perfect little spot to relax and enjoy. Definitely returning and maybe becoming a regular.

Such a quaint little group of cottages near my favorite beach access. Pet and child friendly, yet quiet enough to enjoy as an adult. Most cottages have little porches to sit out on. A couple of gas grills and a picnic area with a sink are available for use also.
